In my role as a board member of the Cloud Security Alliance UK Chapter, I had a fireside chat with Owanate Bestman. Owanate joined me for what turned out to be a really insightful conversation about the evolving CISO landscape in the UK.
Owanate brought some fascinating perspectives from the recruitment side - particularly around how the disconnect between job titles and actual responsibilities is creating challenges for both candidates and hiring organisations. His observations about the shift towards business-savvy security leaders really resonated with our community.
The Cloud Security Alliance - UK Chapter continues to be a fantastic forum for these kinds of practical discussions. It's not just about the technical aspects of security (though those matter enormously), but about how we navigate the human and business elements that ultimately determine whether security programmes succeed or fail.
